- If you have items stored in the loft we can bring them down for you and put them back once you have had your insulation fitted.
- We can remove and dispose of the old insulation.
- If you have had vermin in the loft, we can hoover out the loft and clean it with antiviral disinfectant to kill off any disease.
- We lay your new insulation.
What are the benefits of loft insulation?

We usually install loft insulation up to a depth between 270mm and 300mm. The mineral fibre is laid between the joists and then we cross-lay another layer over that to ensure there are no gaps. The insulation acts like a large duvet covering your house stopping the heat from escaping into your loft space and exiting the roof.
The Energy Saving Trust estimates that you could save up to £215 a year by adding loft insulation.
If you consider that loft insulation can last up least 40 years, those savings could add up.
Having adequate insulation is vital to reduce your home's heat loss. By insulating your property to the recommended level, you will see a huge reduction in your heating bills.
35% of the UK's CO2 emissions come from domestic heating. By properly insulating your home you'll be helping to reduce carbon emissions and helping fight climate change.
Benefits of insulation;
- Reduced damp
- Reduced energy bills
- Reduced carbon footprint
- Reduced effects of severe weather
- Increased value of your property
- Increased EPC Rating
25% of your home's heat escapes through your loft or roof. Loft insulation is one of the easiest types of insulation to install, as it usually just involves rolling a layer of insulation across your loft space.
The UK government recommends every home has 270 mm of loft or roof insulation.
Installing loft installation – or topping up what you already have – can reduce the amount of heat your home loses by up to 25%. Loft insulation can also help reduce dampness and condensation in your home, you’ll use less energy to keep your home warm, potentially saving you hundreds of pounds on your energy bills.
Loft insulation is important as heat will always flow from a warm area to a cold one as hot air rises. The colder it is outside, the faster heat from your home will escape into the surrounding air and up through the roof. Insulation makes it much more difficult for heat to escape by providing an insulating layer filled with air pockets. Air is a poor conductor of heat, so the heat is trapped inside, rather than escaping through the roof. Loft insulation is effective for up to 40 years, so you can take advantage of both immediate cost savings and significant long-term financial benefits.
Current building regulations recommend a minimum depth of 270mm, so it’s not surprising that many older homes do not comply with current regulations.
